Install Snapchat
Start by installing the application by going to the Google Play Store, for those who have Android. If you do not know how to install an application on Android, I advise you to read this tutorial: Install and uninstall an application on Android. For those who have an Iphone, the handling is similar.
register
Once installed, start the application. Click on "Sign Up" to register if you are new to Snapchat, otherwise log in and proceed to the next step. Enter your email address, a password and your birthday, click on "Registration" to validate. Then choose a username and click "Continue". You can fill in your phone number but this step can be ignored.
Add contacts
When you are on the main screen of the application, you should see you through the front camera of your phone, if you have one. Slide the screen down. Now you have two choices: "Add friends" to add friends by searching them with their nickname, or "My contacts" for the app to scan your contacts and indicate which ones are using Snapchat.
Create and send a Snap
On the main application screen, tap the circle at the bottom of the screen to take a picture, or tap and hold to shoot. The maximum duration of a video is 10 seconds. Once your photo or video is created, set the Snap's valid time, that is, how long the recipient will be able to watch your photo or video before it's destroyed. You can also add text to the image, draw, or apply filters. When your Snap is ready, click on the arrow at the bottom right of the screen. Then choose one or more contacts to whom you will send your Snap. Once the choice is made, validate by clicking again on the arrow at the bottom right of the screen. Your Snap has been sent, you can return to the main screen by pressing the back button on your phone.
Read a Snap
On the main application screen, when you have received one or more Snap, a red square showing the number of unread Snap is displayed. Click on this square to see your pending Snap. To play a Snap, you have to press the Snap to view it. When a Snap contains multiple photos or videos, you can switch to the next media by clicking anywhere on the screen.
